WINTER PARK, Fla. — Phase one of the Park Avenue Refresh project in Winter Park is now complete. The initial phase repaired cracked sidewalks, installed new streetlights and added new safety features along the street.

The project aims to make the local community even better, according to Winter Park’s mayor, who spoke Tuesday about the city’s efforts to improve the corridor.

The first phase of work focused on improving infrastructure along Park Avenue to make it safer and easier for pedestrians to get around. The mayor of Winter Park highlighted that these street improvements are intended to support the local residents and visitors who enjoy spending time in the area.

“We love our community. It feels like home when you come here,” the mayor said. “People love it for all kinds of reasons. Whether you go to any of our events. Or just the boat tours and the museums during the year. It makes us special.”

Phase two of the Park Avenue Refresh project is scheduled to begin in January.
