SUMTER COUNTY, Fla. — A 36-year-old Wildwood man was seriously injured Tuesday morning in a three-vehicle crash involving two tractor-trailers on County Road 470.
The incident happened at approximately 6:50 a.m. at CR-470’s entrance. A Nissan Sentra driver, stopped westbound to turn left, was hit from behind when a tractor-trailer traveling westbound failed to stop.
The impact propelled the sedan into the path of an oncoming eastbound tractor-trailer, which then collided with the sedan.
The westbound tractor-trailer was driven by a 57-year-old man from Georgia. The eastbound tractor-trailer was driven by a 54-year-old man from New York.
Emergency responders transported the Wildwood driver to an area hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Neither tractor-trailer driver was injured in the crash.
