ORLANDO, Fla. — TEDxOrlando will return to Central Florida next month with 13 speakers, three live musical performances and a full day of talks at the Orange County Convention Center.
The independently organized TEDx event will be held Saturday, Oct. 17, beginning at 11 a.m. inside the newly renovated Linda W. Chapin Theater.
This year’s theme, “The Space Between,” will focus on the gaps between people, ideas and perspectives, with topics ranging from Orlando’s changing identity and the power of awe to history, adversity and human connection.
13 speakers taking the stage
The lineup includes Orlando real estate leader Ken Pozek, comedian Ken Miller and wedding dress designer Hayley Paige, along with speakers selected from more than 630 applicants.
Other speakers include Sylvia Longmire, Sandra Fatmi-Hall, Sharife Gacel, Richard Hickam, Benjamin Mack-Jackson, Jason T. Mendelsohn, Carin Rae, Jimmy Waldron, Jose Vazquez and Dr. Esther Zeledon.
Organizers say the talks will examine subjects including Central Florida’s identity, disability, health, history, science, culture and leadership.
The program will also include performances by The Humdingers, the AdventHealth Orchestra and Puerto Rico es Bomba.

Tickets include the full-day program, with prices varying by seating section.
The event’s ticketing page currently lists prices ranging from $52.77 for some balcony and accessible seating options to as much as $157.31 for orchestra seating. Seating is assigned by section rather than by individual seat.
The Linda W. Chapin Theater is located inside the Orange County Convention Center’s West Building at 10000 International Drive.
Parking is managed by the convention center and is currently listed at $20 per day, though the price is subject to change.

TEDxOrlando is independently organized by a volunteer team led by Liam Rogers and Nick Rogers. Organizers say the two have a decade of experience producing TEDx events in London.
