ORLANDO, Fla. — As Central Floridians monitor another hurricane season, a Florida-based company is offering a new evacuation option for those looking to leave quickly when a storm threatens.
Priority-Evac provides members with seats on evacuation flights departing from six airports if a hurricane threatens Central Florida.
The service costs $1,250 per year. That annual membership includes seats on up to two evacuation flights during a single hurricane season.
Flights take passengers to Atlanta, allowing them to get out of the storm’s projected path without the hassle of driving through heavy traffic.
However, the service only covers the trip out of Florida. Once the storm has passed, passengers are responsible for making their own travel arrangements back home.
The company says the service is designed to provide a faster evacuation option for residents who want to avoid crowded highways during hurricane evacuations.
