ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. — A family-friendly Halloween event raised more than $5,000 Saturday for Make-A-Wish of Central and Northern Florida.
Seminole Science Charter School partnered with A Petrified Forest to hold its annual Kids Day fundraiser.
Families participated in trick-or-treating, a costume parade, games and crafts at the haunted attraction in Altamonte Springs.
Students and staff at Seminole Science Charter School donated 43,000 pieces of candy for the event.
Organizers said Kids Day has raised approximately $55,000 for the local Make-A-Wish chapter since the annual event began. The organization grants wishes for children with critical illnesses.
