ORLANDO, Fla. — Hawaiian Bros Island Grill plans to bring its Hawaiian-style plate lunches to Orlando as part of a development agreement for 52 restaurants across Florida.
The chain signed the agreement with Southern Rock Restaurants and Southern Rock Hawaii to develop locations in Orlando, Jacksonville, Gainesville and Tampa over the next six years, according to a company announcement.
The plan calls for 24 restaurants across those markets within the first three years. The announcement did not specify how many would open in Orlando or identify locations or opening dates.
What’s on the menu
Hawaiian Bros serves plate lunches featuring chicken or pork with sweet, savory or spicy sauces, accompanied by white rice and macaroni salad or vegetables. The menu also includes Dole Soft Serve.
The company said its restaurants prepare food without freezers, fryers or microwaves.
Southern Rock CEO Max Piet will lead the Florida development. His group operates nearly 200 restaurants as a franchisee of McAlister’s Deli and Dave’s Hot Chicken across 13 states, according to the announcement.
“I’m especially excited to introduce Hawaiian Bros to areas I know and love,” Piet said in a statement.
Hawaiian Bros launched in 2018 and said it has grown to more than 80 restaurants across 14 states. The agreement marks its planned entry into Florida.
