FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. — Flagler County will close its Household Hazardous Waste site in Flagler Beach on Sept. 18.
After the closure, residents may bring household hazardous waste to Waste Pro at 401 S. Bay Street in Bunnell. Disposal fees will apply.
Residents may drop off up to 100 pounds or 10 gallons of material per visit for $25, according to the county. Passenger vehicle tires cost $10 each.
Accepted materials include paints, pesticides, pool chemicals, rechargeable batteries, electronics, automotive fluids, fluorescent bulbs and some mercury-containing devices.
Residents should call Waste Pro at 386-586-0800 before dropping off materials.
The county said its hazardous waste site at 1700 S. Old Kings Road in Flagler Beach will no longer accept materials after Sept. 18.
County officials said properly disposing of hazardous materials helps prevent potentially toxic substances from entering Florida’s groundwater.
