EDGEWATER, Fla. — A 6-month-old infant was found alone in a running vehicle for several hours on Tuesday, leading to the arrest of an Edgewater woman, police said.
A concerned resident noticed the vehicle running in a residential driveway for an extended period, approached it, and discovered the infant inside.
The resident then called 911.
Police said Kristina Vitucci left the child in the vehicle while she cleaned a nearby client’s home. Vitucci allegedly told officers she checked on the infant about every 45 minutes.
The vehicle’s air conditioning was not adequately cooling the interior, according to police. The baby appeared visibly uncomfortable but did not appear to suffer physical injuries.
Vitucci faces charges of child abuse and violation of probation.
Police said she was already on probation following a separate February 2025 incident involving allegations that she left a child in a vehicle while inside a local bar.
