WINTER HAVEN, Fla. — All four dogs available at a recent Polk County adoption event found new homes, organizers announced.

Brooks Law Group hosted the Aug. 1 event at its Winter Haven office in partnership with Polk County Animal Control.

Prospective adopters began arriving about 15 minutes before the event’s scheduled 10 a.m. start. All four dogs had been adopted by approximately 11:30 a.m., bringing the event to an early end.

“What a paws-itively amazing Saturday,” Brooks Law Group Managing Partner Steve Brooks said. “Because of this incredible community, all four dogs found their forever homes.”

It was the second pet adoption event hosted by the law firm, following its first in May 2025.

Dozens of other animals remain available for adoption through Polk County Animal Control. Residents can view available pets through the Polk County Sheriff’s Office Animal Services website or visit the shelter at 7115 DeCastro Road in Winter Haven.
